The Washington Democrats are all putting the blame on Attorney General Jeff Sessions on accusations of unsuitable interactions with Russia. The Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post claim that Sessions had a couple of interactions with US Russia ambassadors during his time as a Senator. They suggested that throughout his confirmation hearing he did not inform of these two certain conversations that had no connection whatsoever with the campaign that was taking place at the time.
On the confirmation hearing day, Senator Al Frankenstein asked the following question “If there was any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this (2016) campaign, what would you do?”
Sessions’ answer was, “I’m not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians.”
He was saying this in the context of campaign procedures and that’s not the reason for his meeting. His interactions with the Russian ambassador were when he was an Armed Services Committee member, based on his spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores.
The ACLU and both congress minority leaders are calling for probes and resignations however, there is a minimum of 30 Democrat senators who’ve talked to Russian ambassadors. Where’s the rampage about this?
